Four rules that keep Showfest useful. Read once, never think about them again — they're common sense for a working trade community.
1. Be specific
Vague reviews are noise. "Great show!" tells nobody anything. "Saturday morning packed, Sunday rain hurt sales — promoter refunded $50" is gold.
2. No spam
Don't tag accounts that have nothing to do with your post. Don't link out to dropshipping sites. Don't crosspost the same thing 5 times a day. We rate-limit posts and comments to make spam impractical, but reports get the rest.
3. No personal attacks
Critique the show, not the person. "The lineup felt thin" is fine. "The promoter is incompetent" isn't. Same goes for promoter responses to reviews.
4. Reviews must come from someone who was there
We can usually tell — same IP, no application history, suspicious timing. Fake reviews get pulled, the account loses verification, and repeats get banned.
